Meet the Team
Abby Champion, CPA
Owner
Abby began her career as an accountant with America’s Banc Mortgage Corp. in 1997. Abby sharpened her skills as a business taxation and accounting specialist at Greer & Walker, LLP, the largest locally owned CPA firm in Charlotte During that time she worked with both large and small clients. Abby has experience with trust returns, not for profit, employee benefit plan returns, individuals, partnerships, corporations, s-corporations as well as multi-state enties.
Abby earned a Bachelor’s degree from UNC Charlotte specializing in accounting. CPA cert#28517, issued February 19, 2001.
Abby is active in a number of professional and community organizations. She is on the stewardship committee, children’s Sunday School teacher and involved with women’s missions at her local church. Abby treats every client with respect and integrity.
She is also a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and The North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, as well as a member of Greater Charlotte Area chapter.
In her spare time, Abby enjoys swimming and spending time with her family.
Kayla Champion Webb
Staff Accountant
Kayla Champion Webb is Abby’s daughter. While she officially joined us in June of 2020, she has helped out at the firm since she was 13. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2017. She was employed by Bradford Preparatory School as a fourth grade teacher for three years. During her third year teaching, she decided that she wanted a career change and enrolled in accounting classes at UNCC. She has completed her Masters of Accountancy degree at UNCC and is currently pursuing her CPA licensure.
Kayla has always been active and enjoys cross fit with her husband, Christian. Skiing and snowboarding has also become a favorite thing to do in the winter months. She also enjoys taking their dog, Carson, to the dog park with her friends.
Larry Sargent, CPA
Staff Accountant
Larry Sargent, CPA, came to us after retiring and moving from Youngstown, Ohio to Charlotte to be near his daughter and her family. After his military service, Larry spent most of his accounting career working with the Internal Revenue Service auditing business income tax returns in the Ohio area. With his many years of accounting, he is a great asset to the firm. He works with us part time during January through April 15th.
Larry enjoys the outdoors. He loves cycling as well as hiking and traveling to different regions of our country as well as seeing the world. He and his wife enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.
Joshua Young
Staff Accountant
Joshua Young joined us in June 2020 as a staff accountant. He obtained his associates degree in accounting from Mitchell Community College. Since attending college, he was an assistant manager at Food Lion and also worked at Pepsi. Joshua is handling the front desk and is getting the opportunity to meet our clients.
In the near future, Joshua is planning on enrolling in college to be able to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in accounting with the goal of obtaining his CPA license.
Snowboarding is one of his favorite things to do in the winter months. He also enjoys spending time with his family, hanging out with his friends, and playing video games.
Sabrina Richardson
Staff Accountant
Sabrina Richardson is a staff accountant who joined us in February of 2020 when we acquired another CPA’s tax clientele. It was great for us to have Sabrina join us as she already knew the clients that were coming to our firm. It has been a great transition of the client relationships with her help. Sabrina works directly with a lot of our accounting clients and handles our firm administration.
Sabrina enjoys spending time with her family. When she gets a chance in the summer, she enjoys relaxing by the pool with her family and friends.
